  • The B-47 was the new look in high performance swept wing bomber and made its first flight December 7,1947. It became the backbone of the Strategic Air Command.

    This fifth version, the E, was first flown Jan 30th 1953. The "STRATOJET" was the first production model to use bicycle type landing gear.

    After being phased out of active service many were converted to QB-47 radio controlled drones for use in evaluation tests.

    The museum's B-47 E was donated in 1979 by the US Naval Air Systems command and was flown into Pueblo from Davis Monthan AFB. AZ.
