The F-101 made its first flight may 1953 and was assigned to the USAF's 81st tactical wing as a low level fighter/bomber. Due to its range (without refueling) of 1700 miles it was the first long range escort fighter.
The Museum's A/C is the first F-101 manufactured and is the only F-101 owned by a civilian. This aircraft is on loan to the City of Pueblo by its owner Dennis Kelsey.
This a/c is undergoing restoration. As time permits: Volunteer workers will restore it to at least aesthetic standards.
