The "Thunderjet" was America's first new fighter after WWII. Its first flight was Feb. 28 1946 and served as escort for B-29 bombers during the Korean war.
Later models were equipped with ejection seats and under-wing retractable rocket launchers.
The Museums F-84 was donated by Mullen Preparatory High School of Denver CO.
It is in poor condition with many parts missing and as time allows, will hopefully be restored to aesthetic standards.
